In September this year we have 2 teams of 3 attempting to complete the Extramile Black Forest Cycle Challenge.

The Challenge

The teams will participate in the 3-day, 500+ mile cycle challenge through Belgium, France and Germany to raise money for charity. The challenge is normally completed by teams of 4 people, but in the spirit of the challenge we are attempting to complete the distance and raise enough money as teams of 3!

The Charities

Two third of monies raised in sponsorship will be split between the following charities - Macmillan Cancer Support, Royal British Legion and Marie Curie Cancer Support. The other third will then be split between - Willen Hospice Milton Keynes; Bedfordshire and Luton MIND and Milton Keynes Young Carers.

If you would care to support these fools and their bikes, but more importantly these very worthwhile charities, they and we would be eternally grateful.

TwentyFour12

This weekend we participated in the noon till midnight Twentyfour12 mountain bike event in Plymouth. Competing in the 12 hour pairs category with fellow riders Ady and Simon, we both managed to complete 5 laps over the testing 8.5mile course. The route was challenging but rideable with a lot of uphill (according to Ady) and some great singletrack downhill sections.

Unfortunately as the day wore on the rain increased and the course got muddier and muddier. Our final lap which took us through to the midnight finish proved great fun and we finished tired, soaking wet and covered in mud but satisfied after such a good workout. There's something very odd about standing in a field at 1am in the morning with lots of other mud encrusted riders waiting for a shower!

Only 8 weeks to go before we hit the roads of Belgium, France and Germany.
